Maternity Favorites for Second Trimester & A Giveaway!

Hello, mamas! I'm so excited about baby #2 and now at 18 weeks I've rounded up some of my favorite maternity items that so far have helped me stay comfortable well into my second trimester!

When you're pregnant it's all about being comfortable, right? And food, all about the food! My bump has grown a lot faster the second time around and I quickly outgrew my pants (and underwear) even at 16 weeks, not to mention my bras! Suddenly, I was so uncomfortable in my normal clothes that I knew it was time to upgrade to some new items. In this article I'll review my favorite maternity/nursing bras at different price points, leggings, and the underwear I finally found that is a dream to wear.

Nursing/Maternity Bras

Bravado Designs makes my favorite nursing bras-- comfortable, supportive, and grow with me from maternity all through nursing. I have 4 pairs in different styles so I have experience with what each one feels like on and what they have to offer. Below I'll be highlighting 3 Bravado Designs bras that you may want to check out if you're seeking comfort!

1- Ballet Nursing Bra-- $34.00. This is my favorite bra currently! It's super soft and I love the pull-over style, no hinges in the back. It's supportive without being bulky and I even sleep in it! When I wear it as a nursing bra I know that pulling the overlapping front to one side will be easy and accessible.

2- Body Silk Seamless Yoga Nursing Bra-- $49.00. This bra is perfect for everyday wear and really helps support my front and back! It's wire-free with a comfortable stretch fabric that holds everything together, if you know what I mean. Even during yoga, out on a walk, or just chasing my kid! And the foam inserts are removable but I like the structure they provide during the maternity stage.

3- Buttercup Nursing Bra-- $52.00. This nursing bra has luxuriously soft fabric that feels so smooth against my skin. I like that the cups are lightly lined and that it provides a wire-free support. I know this is a style I'll be wearing even after the nursing stage! It's feminine and pretty.

I also found this Medela, a Bravado Designs company, Nursing Seamless Bra $23.99 at Target, that is a great price point for what you get. Same quality and comfort level as the ones I've reviewed above. This bra is seamless and has no wires so I have slept in it, so comfy. I sized up from my normal size, from Small to Medium.

Another affordable option is Nordstrom Lingerie Seamless Day Bra $19.00, it makes the set with the underwear I mention below. At first I doubted how much support it would provide since it has somewhat thin straps and not much structure  with it's bralette style but I was surprised by how much it did support because of the weaving in the stretchy fabric throughout the band and around the cups. Just FYI, if it helps for reference, I wear a 34C. This is a great bra for first trimester as breasts are swollen and sensitive.

Let's chat underwear, shall we?

No joke, it can get really uncomfortable at the elastics. So I went on the search and found my favorites! -- yes, I'm excited about underwear. Nordstrom Lingerie Seamless Hipster Panty are my favorite and they're 3 for $33. I sized up once from my normal size. I like that there's no pinching, bunching, or rising up! A bonus is that they're pretty seamless so they don't have very obvious marks under leggings.

Speaking of leggings-- I live in mine.

And my favorite pair happen to be wearable before, during, and after pregnancy! Belly Bandit B.D.A Leggings $44.95, which stand for just that, are super comfy, offer opaque coverage so they're great to wear as pants (the best!) and are super stretchy. They can be worn folded below the belly or over. I love this feature! They have great elasticity throughout but don't have an elastic band that cut into my bump. They're flattering and hug in all the right places.

Another awesome product I've started using because I need bump support is Belly Bandit Upsie Belly $69.95. It's a support band, I wear it a couple hours a day to help support and relieve the strain from my growing belly on my lower back, legs, and under my belly. I think this will help a lot once my bump gets heavier because I tend to have sciatica pain. This set has been a must-have!
